This page shows you how to use the Redmine InstantApp on your Scaleway instance.
- You have an account and are logged into cloud.scaleway.com
- You have configured your SSH Key
Redmine is a flexible project management web application.
There are three steps to deploy the Redmine InstantApp
First, we need to create a new server using the Redmine InstantApp. Click on “Create Server” button in the control panel.
You land on the server creation page where you must input information and choose an image.
After inputting your server basic information, select the Redmine image for your server.
On the ImageHub tab, select Redmine and click the “Create Server” button.
The server will be created with a Redmine pre-installed.
To avoid spam, remote mail ports cannot be reached from our infrastructure by default. As Redmine requires to send mail, we need to open these ports. Your account needs to be validated to perform this operation. To get your account reviewed, please contact our assistance.
On the left panel of the Control Panel, click on “Security”, you will land on the security-groups page. Click the “Create Group” button and input the security group name and description.
Then, on the Redmine security group, set “Block SMTP” to No.
Back to the server view, click the “Show” button to display advanced options and select the security group you previously created. Restart your server to apply the changes.
To configure Redmine, copy your server public IP address and paste it in your favorite browser. You land on the Redmine homepage.

The first thing to do is to change the e-mail and password for your admin account. Click the “My account” tab on the to right corner and change your credentials.
Then, in the Administration menu, change the “Host name and path” field with your server public IP or your domain name.
The final configuration step is to change the e-mail used by Redmine to send notification. In the “Email notifications” tab, edit the “Emission email address field” with the e-mail address of your choice that will be used to receive Redmine notifications.
