Scaleway makes it easy for you to manage your personal data and privacy via the console.

- A Scaleway account logged into the [console](https://console.scaleway.com)
- [Owner](/iam/concepts/#owner) status or [IAM permissions](/iam/concepts/#permission) allowing you to perform actions in the intended Organization

## How to access your personal data

1. Access the [Settings space](https://console.scaleway.com/settings/) of your account.
2. Scroll down to the **Access your personal data** panel, under the [Data & Privacy](https://console.scaleway.com/settings/account/privacy) section.
3. Check the first box if you wish to obtain information about your personal data processed by Scaleway.
4. Check the second box if you wish to obtain a copy of your personal data processed by Scaleway.
5. Check the box marked **I certify that I have the necessary rights to make this request**.
6. Click **Send request**.

## How to rectify your personal data

1. Access the [Settings space](https://console.scaleway.com/settings/) of your account.
2. Scroll down to the **User information** panel, under the [Profile](https://console.scaleway.com/settings/account/profile) section.
3. Click the **Edit** button.
4. Edit your first name, last name, and email address, as required.
5. Click **Save changes**.

## How to exercise your right to data portability

When exercising your right to data portability, you have the right to have your personal data transmitted directly to another service provider, where technically feasible.

1. Access the [Settings space](https://console.scaleway.com/settings/) of your account.
2. Scroll down to the **Exercise your right to data portability** panel, under the [Data & Privacy](https://console.scaleway.com/settings/account/privacy) section.
3. Check the box marked **I certify that I have the necessary rights to make this request**.
4. Click **Send request**.

## How to request to limit the processing of your personal data

1. Access the [Settings space](https://console.scaleway.com/settings/) of your account.
2. Scroll down to the [Limit the processing of my personal data](https://console.scaleway.com/settings/account/privacy#privacy-restrict) panel, under the **Data & Privacy** section.
3. Check the box that best describes the nature of your request.
4. Use the text box to provide any further relevant information.
5. Check the box marked **I certify that I have the necessary rights to make this request**.
6. Click **Send request**.

## How to erase your account and personal data

If you do not want to use Scaleway services anymore, you can [close your account](/account/how-to/close-account/) and/or delete your personal data.

### How to erase your personal data

Erasing your account and personal data will permanently delete your Organization’s servers, resources, services, backups, and all data related to your account.

- A Scaleway account logged into the [console](https://console.scaleway.com)
- [Ownership](/iam/concepts/#owner) of the Organization you intend to delete

<Message type="important">
  Before requesting your personal data be deleted, ensure all your invoices are paid, and no resources are running. **Your request to erase your account will fail if you have unpaid consumption**.
</Message>

1. Access your [Privacy Settings](https://console.scaleway.com/settings/account/privacy).
2. Scroll down to the **Erase your account and data** panel.
3. Click the **Request account and data erase** button once you have read and agreed to the warning message.
4. Type **Erase** in the text box, then click **Send request** to confirm your decision.

A message appears to confirm that your account and personal data will be erased soon. The process can take up to 72 hours.
