In accordance with [ICANN](https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/about-icann) requirements, Scaleway must verify the email address associated with your domain name. This verification may be required following a domain registration, an incoming transfer, or an update of the registrant's contact information.

You can receive legitimate email verification requests, which can sometimes appear in your spam folder. This page explains how to identify legitimate verification emails and complete the verification process.

  Complete verification within 15 calendar days. Failure to verify will suspend your domain name and disable dependent services, including websites and email.

## Identify legitimate verification emails

### The email is sent from Scaleway, BookMyName, or Online

1. Open the verification email you received.

      Before clicking the verification link, ensure it redirects to a legitimate domain. If the destination is different or the message appears suspicious, do not proceed and contact [Scaleway Support](https://console.scaleway.com/support/tickets/create).
      The verification process never asks for your login and password information.

    If the sender and verification link match the examples in the following table, then the email is legitimate.

2. Click the link to verify your email address.

### The email is sent from a different sender

You can receive legitimate email verification requests from other senders (the email address can be customized by resellers).

1. Open the verification email you received.

      The verification process never asks for your login and password information.

2. Click the link to https://emailverification.info/ and enter the verification code to verify your email address.
