About the company

Purplemet is a French company founded in 2019, specializing in Attack Surface Management (ASM). It offers a non-intrusive SaaS platform that enables companies to map and analyze their web attack surface in real time.

Challenge

Purplemet is a SaaS platform designed to continuously monitor the security of companies' external perimeters, including domains, subdomains, IP addresses, web applications, certificates, and supply chains. It has been designed to be transparent, configuration-free, and capable of adapting to the rapid growth in the volume of assets to be monitored. Today, it monitors more than 2 million web applications in real time.

Faced with the limitations of large cloud providers (unpredictable costs, delays, local non-compliance), the Purplemet team sought a sovereign solution that was easy to deploy, with precise cost control and responsive support. Their choice naturally fell on Scaleway, whose innovative approach and compatibility with their technical and regulatory requirements echoed their needs.

Result

Purplemet was able to quickly deploy a functional architecture using Scaleway's Elastic Metal servers and managed PostgreSQL. The flexibility of the offering allowed them to start with minimal resources for prototyping, then scale up without interruption. Features such as high availability, data encryption, and high-performance storage enhanced security and reliability. Scaleway's API facilitated automation, and the support of a dedicated contact strengthened the long-term relationship of trust.
Thanks to Scaleway, Purplemet has deployed a highly scalable solution with minimal effort. The number of assets managed doubles every year without increasing the operational burden. The resilient and scalable platform can be deployed in less than two hours, a timeframe that will be further reduced thanks to automation via the API.

Plan future

Currently, we are only using some of Scaleway's features, but we have a six-month plan to leverage more of them to improve our platform. We will integrate the Load Balancer service to optimize our CI/CD pipeline with blue/green deployment, ensuring safer and smoother updates. We will also expand our use of the Scaleway API to automate the creation of complete production environments, thereby strengthening our business continuity and our ability to quickly deliver dedicated platforms. Finally, we plan to migrate log and metrics management to Scaleway Cockpit by the end of the year to centralize monitoring and improve our operational efficiency
