Sellsy Modernizes Its SaaS Platform with Scaleway and Enix.

About the Company

Sellsy is a French SaaS provider serving small and medium-sized businesses, with nearly 50,000 users. Following a fundraising round in January 2022, the company experienced rapid growth and needed to modernize its infrastructure to remain performant, secure, and sovereign. The goal was to ensure service continuity while improving scalability and data security for its customers.

Challenges

Sellsy’s previous infrastructure, mostly on-premise, could no longer keep pace with the company’s rapid growth. Applications needed to be adapted to Kubernetes, and some required full isolation. Centralized database management limited resilience and flexibility. Additionally, the migration had to be carried out without service interruptions while ensuring data sovereignty, bypassing reliance on non-European cloud providers.

Results

Sellsy chose Scaleway for its sovereign and high-performance cloud, and partnered with Enix to support the project from design to 24/7 operations. Over three months, the teams gradually migrated client data from MariaDB to PostgreSQL databases dedicated per client. Applications are now deployed on a multi-zone Kubernetes cluster across three data centers in the Paris region, ensuring both high availability and security. The new infrastructure supports continuous backups with Point In Time Recovery, encryption of data at rest and in transit, and proactive 24/7 monitoring. According to Quentin Loupot, Head of Infrastructure at Sellsy, the project resulted in a 30% performance improvement, enhanced security, and automated operations, providing a more reliable and resilient service for clients.

Future Plans

With this modernized infrastructure, Sellsy is now well-positioned to support its growth and innovate more rapidly for its customers. The company can deploy new features while maintaining high standards of security and compliance, continuing to build trust with its users.
