Accessibility statement

Scaleway commits
Scaleway's Digital Accessibility Statement for its digital content and services.
Scaleway is committed to making its websites accessible in accordance with Article 47 of Law No. 2005-102 of February 11, 2005 for equal rights and opportunities, participation and citizenship, Law No. 2016-1321 of October 7, 2016 for a digital republic, as well as Decree No. 2019-768 of July 24, 2019.
This accessibility statement was made on February 4, 2025.
Scaleway has appointed a digital accessibility representative in February 2024 and supports awareness-raising and training actions for Scalers in digital accessibility.
In 2025, Scaleway will publish a roadmap to improve the accessibility of its services. This document will include a multi-year digital accessibility plan, broken down into annual action plans, with the resources needed for their implementation. These documents, currently being drafted, will be available on this page.
Below are the strategies and actions currently underway:
- the creation of an external discussion group with a dedicated email address to collect user feedback;
- a monthly Masterclass to raise awareness of digital accessibility issues open to all;
- monitoring for people responsible for creating, developing or contributing content via our internal discussion tool (Slack channels);
- content and references freely available in a dedicated space on the intranet;
- training of a digital accessibility representative by a consulting company specializing in digital accessibility (Access42);
- a training course "Designing accessible editorial content for the web" (Access42) for the Documentation team.
Other actions are initiated and developing:
- internal recruitment of already aware volunteers in order to build a community of practice and place its members in support of the various business teams;
- practical workshops focused on creation, contribution or development during Team building meetings or during informal ones;
- creation and internal distribution of self-training materials (internal 360Learning tool).
Audits
The accessibility advisor has EAE (Accessibility Assessment Expert) certification. For this reason, audit work is currently carried out internally.
An audit of the console.scaleway.com client interface was produced in July 2023 using the RGAA 4.1.2 standard. The report is available for download in PDF format (192KB - French).
It reveals an average compliance rate of 66.5% (average of the compliance rates of each page) for July 2023.
Levels | Compliant | Non-Compliant |
---|---|---|
A | 47,1 % | 52,9 % |
AA | 64,3 % | 35,7 % |
Overall percentage of conforming and non-conforming criteria by levels corresponding to the success criteria of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 of level single A (A) and double A (AA).
Technologies used to create the website
- HTML5
- CSS
- JavaScript
User agents and assistive technologies used to verify content accessibility
Web page testing was performed using the following tools:
- on Mobile iOS with Safari and VoiceOver;
- on MacOS computer with Firefox, Safari and VoiceOver;
- on MacOS computer with the Firefox axe DevTools addon for the automated part.
Accessibility verification is the result of manual tests, assisted by tools (dedicated CSS sheets, HeadingsMaps and WebDeveloper Toolbar extensions, Color Contrast Analyser).

Notice
The site has an average level of accessibility. The site generally incorporates good accessibility practices, but some content or components remain inaccessible to some users.
At the time of the audit, the most significant non-conformities concern:
- scripts and use of the ARIA API;
- the structuring of securities;
- images on buttons/links without labels;
- Tooltips;
- certain tables and forms.
Actions taken since the audit
Since this audit was carried out, corrective actions have been taken in collaboration with the teams:
- intranet page listing the corrections to be applied classified by value threshold;
- involvement of stakeholders, managers, designers and developers;
- creation of corrective task tickets to be carried out for the teams concerned;
- processing of most tickets by developers from the console or design system team;
- setting up a communication flow with regular meetings for stakeholders;
- addition of a line to the project/stakeholder/time spent declarations, allowing metrics to be obtained.
A total of 8 tickets have been processed and the fixes are in production.
The main fixes focused on the hierarchical structuring of pages, certain forms and the feedback from these forms when they are used, as well as an improvement in the alternative texts offered on certain images and icons. In addition, since the Scaleway console uses a design system developed internally, applying a fix to one element allowed it to be propagated across a large set of pages.
Following these improvements, the compliance rate was not measured again. The potential revised and improved rate will be confirmed during a new audit of the Scaleway console section, in accordance with the provisions of the multi-year plan.
Compliance Status
- Console: Partially Compliant ;
- Showcase site: Audit planned for 2025;
- Documentation site: Audit planned for 2025.
