Scaleway is strengthening its position in Europe by opening a second data center in Amsterdam

Scaleway, the fast-growing European public cloud service provider for startups further expands its current footprint and global offering and opens a new Availability Zone (AZ) in the Netherlands, nl-ams-2. The company thereby steps up growth in the Netherlands and the Benelux region, a significant step in building a complete region, and the construction of a resilient European Cloud.

Scaleway made its first move for expansion into the Dutch market in 2016, when it established a data center in Amsterdam (nl-ams-1).
Scaleway, the cloud of choice, is committed to providing an extensive service for all its customers in northern Europe.

“At Scaleway, our ambition is to offer true and world-class resilience. The launch of nl-ams-2 is the first step toward our ambition to develop a multi-AZ region in the north of Europe. At Scaleway we want to give the choice to European startups to create their architecture in a sovereign and redundant ecosystem. We are proud to be the only European Cloud provider building real multi-AZ regions,” said Yann Lechelle, CEO, Scaleway.

Scaleway’s hyper-resilience through regional multi-AZ is a unique feature for the European cloud market

Scaleway believes in an open, multi-cloud, hyper-resilient approach, where customers have full control over their businesses and data sovereignty. In line with its ambition to offer true and world class resilience, Scaleway recently deployed its first full multi-AZ region with fr-par-3, turning Scaleway into the first European cloud provider to reach this gold standard, a key pillar in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for first tier CSPs. The company plans to open a full region in Amsterdam by end of 2022.
