File Storage

Empower your teams to collaborate and share files across multiple users and Kubernetes clusters with a fully managed, scalable file system.

Currently in Public Beta.

Secure your shared data assets

Share files across your teams and developers. Connect multiple CPU or GPU instances to the same file system. Scaleway handles the private network part between instances and filesystems by design.

Scale with ReadWriteMany access

Support horizontal scaling by providing all instances simultaneous access to shared assets and logs. Avoid data duplication and ensure consistency across your entire cluster with native ReadWriteMany (RWX) support.

European by design

Keep your customers’ data in Europe. Built entirely on a Scaleway-designed technical stack, we guarantee true sovereignty from the infrastructure to the software level.

Frequently asked questions

Public Beta quotas

SouthShortIcon

During the free phase of the Public Beta (until May 31, 2026), the following quotas apply per Organization:

  • Maximum number of filesystems: 2 file systems
  • Total provisioned storage size across all file systems: 100 GB

This quotas will be increased in June 2026.

Do I need to provision a VPC for my filesystem?

SouthShortIcon

No VPC needed. Scaleway File Storage provides a built in private network between filesystems and VM instances by design.

In which region can I provision filesystems?

SouthShortIcon

Scaleway File Storage is a regional product currently available in the PAR region. A deployment in the AMS region is coming next in 2026.

Is File Storage compatible with NFS?

SouthShortIcon

Scaleway File Storage is a file-sharing solution optimized for seamless communication between Instances and their hosts.

The remote connection to the storage backend is fully managed by Scaleway, making it transparent to the user. Consequently, there is no need to manually configure or connect via the NFS protocol. You benefit from the full range of filesystem features and high-performance capabilities without the administrative overhead of traditional network protocols.

How does Scaleway ensure the protection of my data in File Storage?

SouthShortIcon

Scaleway ensures high-level security by automatically encrypting all data at rest on physical disks and routing all transfers over a dedicated, Scaleway-managed isolated network that remains inaccessible to other users and external interference.

How does Scaleway ensure data resilience in File Storage?

SouthShortIcon

Scaleway ensures high availability and data durability by distributing your data across multiple independent storage nodes and disks within our infrastructure across one Availability Zone (triple replication). This architecture prevents data loss from individual hardware failures and ensures that your filesystem remains accessible even during routine maintenance or localized equipment issues.

Snapshots will be available for General Availability. Backup features and Multi-AZ High Availability will be delivered next.
