Quantum As A Service (QaaS) - Quandela and Scaleway Join Forces to Democratize Quantum Computing

PARIS, November 17, 2023 — Damien Lucas, CEO of Scaleway, unveiled at the ai-PULSE conference today Scaleway's entry into the field of quantum computing, by announcing a strategic partnership between Scaleway and Quandela, a renowned French player in the quantum domain, which recently secured €50 million in funding and delivered its first quantum computer.

Scaleway's Entrance into Quantum Computing
Scaleway, leader in European cloud for AI infrastructures, is taking a significant step forward by introducing an on-demand Quantum service (QaaS) available now.
This cutting-edge initiative reaffirms Scaleway's commitment to providing state-of-the-art technologies to its customers and signifies its ambition to be a European leader in the convergence of artificial intelligence and quantum computing.

A First Partnership with Quandela
Collaboration between Scaleway and Quandela is a major step forward for quantum computing. The launch of Quantum as a Service (QaaS) represents a synergy of expertise, between Scaleway's computing capacity and Quandela's commitment to offering pioneering advances in quantum technology.

Launching a QaaS Service with an Exclusive Circuit Simulator
Until quantum supremacy is achieved, powerful simulators are required to implement revolutionary algorithms. These simulators are essential in the quest to master quantum computing.

Starting today, Scaleway makes its QaaS service available to the public, powered by an exclusive circuit simulator from Quandela and accelerated by NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs. This technological advancement provides a powerful alternative until the first generation of large-scale quantum processing units (QPUs) arrives, expected by 2027-2030.

“With this simulator powered by the most powerful GPUs on the market, we are pushing the limits of simulation to the boundaries of the quantum advantage,” said Jean Senellart, CPO at Quandela. “This service paves the way to developing hybrid quantum algorithms that will prepare industries for the quantum era”.

"Scaleway takes a major step forward in quantum computing. Our new QaaS service, enabled by Quandela's exclusive simulator, offers a quantum experience for companies today while preparing the ground for the future," said Damien Lucas. "At Scaleway, we help companies to anticipate the arrival of quantum tech and the revolution it will bring."

Enhancing AI with Quantum Algorithmics
At ai-PULSE, Scaleway demonstrates its commitment to the future of technology by offering scalable solutions. The launch of the QaaS service marks a crucial step in consolidating Scaleway as a European leader in the AI ecosystem, shaping the ever-evolving technological landscape.
