Scaleway secures European “Trusted Cloud” services contract with Airbus

Paris, France – July 16, 2026 – Scaleway, the leading European cloud and AI provider, today announced that Airbus has selected the company as its sovereign cloud provider to support their cloud capabilities and complement its current cloud portfolio. The contract will include providing Airbus with cloud infrastructure designed to modernize selected enterprise applications within a sovereign environment for workloads requiring the highest levels of governance, resilience and legal protection while leveraging AI-ready capabilities.

As one of the world's leading aerospace and defence companies, Airbus launched a competitive tender to identify a cloud provider capable of supporting its long-term digital ambitions. In an increasingly complex geopolitical and technological environment, the company sought a partner able to combine high performance cloud capabilities with European operational control, legal certainty and long-term strategic autonomy for its most sensitive applications and industrial data.

Following a strict evaluation process, Airbus selected Scaleway as its sovereign cloud partner.

During the tender, Airbus assessed several cloud providers across three complementary dimensions:

• Technical capabilities, including advanced cloud services, interoperability and scalability as well as AI capabilities.
• Operational excellence, covering security, resilience, service continuity and seamless integration with Airbus' existing multi-cloud ecosystem.
• Legal and governance safeguards, including European jurisdiction, data protection and protection against non-European extraterritorial legislation.

The initiative reflects Airbus' broader digital sovereignty strategy. By complementing its existing multi-cloud approach, Airbus can ensure that each workload is deployed in the environment best suited to its technical, operational and regulatory requirements.
