How to delete a database

Before you start

To complete the actions presented below, you must have:

  • A Scaleway account logged into the console
  • Owner status or IAM permissions allowing you to perform actions in the intended Organization
  • A PostgreSQL or MySQL Database Instance
  • A database
  1. Click PostgreSQL and MySQL under Managed Databases on the side menu. A list of your Database Instances displays.
  2. Click the Database Instance name or «See more Icon» > More info to access the Database Instance information page.
  3. Go to the Databases tab. A list of your databases displays.
  4. Click «See more Icon» > Delete next to the database of your choice. A pop-up appears to inform that:
    Important

    This will permanently destroy your Instance, and all your data will be lost. This action is irreversible.

  5. Type DELETE to confirm and click Delete database.
