How to edit the storage class
Scaleway Object Storage offers several storage classes to choose from depending on the performance, access, resiliency, and cost requirements of your workloads.
The Scaleway console allows you to edit the storage class of objects individually. Technically, this action creates a copy of the object with the new class, which overwrites your previous object.
Before you start
To complete the actions presented below, you must have:
- A Scaleway account logged into the console
- Owner status or IAM permissions allowing you to perform actions in the intended Organization
- An Object Storage bucket
- In the console side menu, go to Storage > Object Storage. The list of buckets appears.
- Click the name of the bucket containing the object you want to edit. The list of objects appears.
- Click more icon next to the desired object and click Edit storage class. A dialog box appears.
- Select a storage class from the dropdown.
- Click Save settings to confirm.
The new storage class of your object displays next to its name.
