Mailbox - Quickstart
Mailbox is a professional email service allowing you to create and manage email accounts using your own domain. This quickstart walks you through domain configuration, account creation, and mailbox access.
Before you start
To complete the actions presented below, you must have:
- A Scaleway account logged in to the console
- Owner status or IAM permissions allowing you to perform actions in the intended Organization
- A domain name
How to add a Mailbox domain
- Click Mailbox in the Domains & Web Hosting section of the console side menu. The list of your domains displays.
- Click Create an email account. The Mailbox creation wizard displays.
- Select Domain registered with an external provider.
- Enter the domain name you want to use for your Mailbox email accounts.
- Select the subscription plan.
- Check the estimated cost summary, then click Continue to setup. The email account creation window is displayed.
How to configure DNS records
When you use a domain name registered with Scaleway Domains and DNS, you can benefit from DNS autoconfiguration.
If you use an external domain, follow the steps in our tutorial to manually configure your domain DNS records.
How to add email accounts
The email account creation window is displayed during the creation of a Mailbox domain or when clicking Add email account from a Mailbox domain.
- Create your email accounts:
- Enter the email prefix.
- Enter a password or click the magic wand button to autogenerate a strong password.
- Click Add.
- If needed, click Add another email account and repeat the previous steps.
- Check the estimated cost summary, then click Create email account(s).
How to access Webmail
- In the Email accounts tab, click Access Webmail to open the email service application in a new browser tab.
- Enter your full email address and password to access your Mailbox.
