How to create a Block Storage volume from a snapshot
Before you start
To complete the actions presented below, you must have:
- A Scaleway account logged into the console
- Owner status or IAM permissions allowing you to perform actions in the intended Organization
- Created a Block Storage volume
- Created a snapshot
- Click Block Storage in the Storage section of the Scaleway console side menu. The Block Storage page displays.
- Click the Snapshots tab.
- Click more icon > Volume from snapshot next to the snapshot of your choice. A pop-up displays.
- Enter a name for the new volume, or leave the suggested name.
- Select an IOPS.
- Click Create volume from snapshot.
The new volume appears in your volumes list.
Alternatively, you can create a volume from a snapshot this way:
- Click Block Storage in the Storage section of the Scaleway console side menu. The Block Storage page displays.
- Click the Snapshots tab. A list of your snapshots displays.
- Click the name of the snapshot you want to use to create a new volume. The Snapshot overview displays.
- In the Volume from snapshot section, click Create volume.
- Enter a name for the new volume, or leave the suggested name.
- Select an IOPS. You cannot edit the IOPS of a volume after its creation.
- Click Create volume from snapshot.
The new volume appears in your volumes list.
