How to create a snapshot of a Block Storage volume

To perform certain actions described below, you must either be the Owner of the Organization in which the actions will be performed or an IAM user with the necessary permissions.

Requirements
  • You have an account and are logged into the Scaleway console
  • You have created a Block Storage volume
  1. Click Block Storage in the Storage section of the Scaleway Console side menu.
  2. Click «See more Icon» > Create snapshot next to the volume of your choice. A pop-up displays.
  3. Enter a name for the new snapshot.
  4. Click Create snapshot to confirm.

The new snapshot can be found in the Snapshots tab.

Alternatively, you can create a snapshot the following way:

  1. Click Block Storage in the Storage section of the Scaleway Console side menu.
  2. Click the Snapshots tab.
  3. Click + Create snapshot.
  4. Enter a name for the new snapshot.
  5. Select the volume you want to snapshot from the drop-down.
  6. Click Create snapshot.
