How to use Private Networks with your deployment
Private Networks allow your Cloud Essentials for OpenSearch deployments to communicate in an isolated and secure network without needing to be connected to the public internet. Each deployment can be connected to one Private Network.

Before you start
To complete the actions presented below, you must have:
- A Scaleway account logged into the console
- Owner status or IAM permissions allowing you to perform actions in the intended Organization
- Created a Private Network
How to create a Private Network
This action must be carried out from the Private Networks section of the console. Follow the procedure detailed in our dedicated Private Networks documentation.
How to attach a deployment to a Private Network

Click OpenSearch in the Databases section of the console. The Cloud Essentials for OpenSearch dashboard displays.

Click the name of the OpenSearch deployment you want to attach to a Private Network. Its Overview page displays.

In the Network section, click Attach Private Network.

Select an existing Private Network from the drop-down menu, or create a new one.

Click Attach to Private Network to confirm.
Your deployment is now attached to the selected Private Network, and its private endpoint displays in the Network section.
How to detach a container from a Private Network

Click OpenSearch in the Databases section of the console. The Cloud Essentials for OpenSearch dashboard displays.

Click the name of the desired OpenSearch deployment. Its Overview page displays.

In the Network section, click Detach Private Network.

Click Detach resource to confirm.
Your deployment is now detached from the Private Network.
How to delete a Private Network
This must be carried out from the Private Networks section of the console. Follow the procedure detailed in our dedicated Private Networks documentation.
