How to configure the reverse DNS of a failover IP on Dedibox
You can configure the reverse DNS (rDNS) of a failover IP address with a custom value. This is particularly useful when sending emails from your Dedibox, as some remote mail servers may reject messages originating from generic reverse hostnames.
Before you start
To complete the actions presented below, you must have:
- A Dedibox account logged into the console
- Owner status or IAM permissions allowing you to perform actions in the intended Organization
- Ordered a Dedibox server and a failover IP

Click Dedibox in the Bare Metal section of the side menu.

Click the Failover IPs tab to display a list of your failover IPs.

Click more icon next to the failover IP you want to edit. A drop-down menu displays.

Click Edit reverse. A pop-up displays.

Enter a new IPv4 reverse DNS and click Save changes.
The reverse DNS (PTR-Record) of the failover IP is being updated.
