How to order a Web Hosting plan

This page shows how to create a Scaleway Web Hosting plan. Web Hosting is a managed service, designed for personal use, business use and everything in between. It allows you to host your website and databases and create personalized email addresses using your domain name.

Before you start

To complete the actions presented below, you must have:

• A Scaleway account logged into the console
• Owner status or IAM permissions allowing you to perform actions in the intended Organization
• Registered a domain name at Scaleway or another registrar

1. Click Web Hosting within the Managed Services section of the side menu. You will be directed to the Web Hosting splash page.
   Note

   The list of your existing Web Hosting plans will display if you already have any. Click the «Plus Icon» button to create additional Web Hosting plans.

2. Select Order Web Hosting, and the Web Hosting creation wizard appears.
3. Choose a region and a control panel for your Web Hosting. Then click Configure Web Hosting.
4. Follow these steps in the wizard:
   • Enter a domain name to associate with your Web Hosting plan.
     Important

     The domain must be pre-registered, and you must be the registrant. If you do not have a domain yet, you need to register one before proceeding.

   • Choose a hosting plan based on your Web Hosting requirements.
   • Decide whether to activate the backup option.
     Tip

     Enable this option for a daily automated backup of your Web Hosting plan accessible via FTP. It includes daily backups of your website, emails, and databases, retaining backups for three days, and a full weekly backup of your website retained for two months.

   • Enter your email address. We will send your cPanel password to the email address you entered in the form.
5. Click Create Web Hosting to finish. The creation of your Web Hosting plan begins and you are redirected to the Overview tab. From here you can see information about your web hosting account, such as the link to the cPanel control panel, your webmail interface, etc.

Proceed with the configuration of the DNS for your Web Hosting plan.
